I think Trev's labeling of D2 as 'an action game' is entirely appropriate though.

I think they bill it as an "action RPG" which is even MORE appropriate, IF SUCH A THING COULD BE.

Check out the "Wizard trailer" if you haven't seen it. I wish this game didn't look so damn good, then I wouldn't have to think about all the hours i'll inevitably spend playing it in the not too distant future.

I like how they've changed the sorceress chick from the token black character to the token asian person. Hot.

...oh wait, there was 2 black characters in D2, wasn't there? What are the odds? Anyways, still hot.

Dying in Diablo 3

Dying will similarly be based on the waypoints system. When you die, you don’t go back to town with all your equipment lying in some dungeon. You simply get teleported to the closest waypoint with minimal health (10%?). It’s your choice if you want to go back to town or you want to gulp a potion and continue hacking.

At first I thought it sounded crap, but as I read further it kinda sounded quite cool. Check out the link—the reasons that are given by one of the blizzard dudes for the change sound pretty cool.

Diablo 3 runes

OK, so what are the changes to the runes in Diablo 3? Runes will still be used to CUSTOMIZE your character, however, runes no longer modify ITEMS. Instead they’ll be added to skills (each skill has a single rune slot).

Good. I thought runes sucked hugely in D2. Mainly because they were so ridiculously rare, and then you had to find a good item with exactly the right amount of sockets, and then look up a rune word on the net... gay.
