Post by Groove Champion on Sat Feb 21, 2009 7:50 pm

So my children, I thought of making this thread after in 'bout freakin time' Tom said this:
"i am going to love earning 100K + when i eventually get there."
and then I typed.... something.

What are your plans people?
I'll let Tom start as he said that /\ and is starting some law degree thingie....
I'm also interested in you, Andy my boy.

Hey, Trev breakin’ out with the GC topic. I love it.

Plans, eh? Well, let’s see, SC2 is probably coming out this year, and so is D3, so, I guess first on the agenda is: failing uni... ha, sorry, had to start with a joke – you know how these social things operate...

Well, to make it as short as possible:
1. Finish this year of Uni and apply for honors in physiology.
2. If accepted to said honors complete that honors year and apply for Post Grad... somewhere... anywhere... possibly overseas.
3. If accepted (I think that’s how it works) then complete those 4 or 5 or 6 or whatever years of Post Grad study in probably some area of Neuroscience.
4. ...profit? Ha, nah, not likely. Get job that allows for more and more study – preferably in an area related to science, if not, that’s cool.

Cheers for the interest, Trev. Now the next person!

p.s. this is all assuming I don't die horribly and ignominiously in the mean time, which, if there's any justice in this world, is very unlikely.

Well i agree with Andy's first statement, i actually am going to take the day off (maybe two) when SC2 comes out and play it all day. I say LAN!

At the moment there are momentous changes happening at my workplace, i am going to go for that same promotion again. If i don't get it i will start looking for a higher paid job in earnest.

I have officially started uni again as of today. I am studying Law. I have no idea what i will specialise in because that is 3 years away, 3 years before electives. At the moment it is probably international law, work in international trade agreements, possibly even the UN. I like that cause it is A a completely new field and we are still creating international law and B because it is the only field where you can make a difference everywhere at once as opposed to just helping people with their civic rights (which is also worthy).

Still don't know where i will end up tho.

Trev, how goes the getting into the Army thing?

I believe the discussion of Trev's army antics is in another thread.

Also, you're back at uni before me? Damn you!

Sounds like some sweet ass plans. Where do you work if you work for the UN? America? Or anywhere?

Well UN Headquarters are in New York. But i could work in the haig, or for the international court of apeals (wherever that is), or i could be part of a peace keeping corps, or i could even aid in the creation of constitutions! Pretty much, because it is only a bourgening field of study, nothing like this has ever been tried before (i.e. an international standard of laws that are recognised by courts specially set up for this type of thing) the sky is the limit. That is why it is so exciting, it is the next step to diplomacy.

Hahahaha! I demand that you say that loudly when you step off the bus!

"Hey, where do I get my grenades at?"

That sounds very cool.
