Yes Nick, I know theres a thread called 'bike photos'. Change that to Nicks bike (or whatever creative name you want), that will be for photos, specs, updates etc of your bike for those interested (probably just me) and this will be my thread.


I found the first major(ish) problem of my bargain bike. The screw cap thingies (Marzocchi End Caps) that hold the fork to the front hub are fucked. Was only able to get one off (barely) and the other is stuck there. The hex hole has been rounded on both of them.

I'm going to go to the bike shop near work tomorrow afternoon and see if they have any. I should be able to get the other one off with one of those thingamebobs that are used to get stuffed screws out of things.

I have a better shock....

The saddle and seatpost seem alright, just a bit scuffed.

Turns out the seatpost doesn't have angle adjustment (at least i dont think it does) so I can't get the seat flat. Pfft!

Going to replace the wheelset too. Theres a cheap Novatec / Alex set on Torepdo7 that should do the job.

Going to stick with the SRAM setup for now.

I can use the seatpost. I does have angle adjustment but it was so caked in mud that I didn't notice.

I finally ordered some rim tape. Decided to get my first bit of bike porn (sorta) and went for Syncros tape.
