Re: Legs of shame.
Perhaps there was a context issue that i missed but it sounded as if you said:
Did you perhaps think your kids would come out of the womb having excellent fine and gross motor skills? my problem with your comment is that when i read it it sounded as if you had no respect for people who train every bit as hard as able-bodied Olympians, who set and break world records and are superb athletes, comparing someone with a physical handicap to someone who just isn't good at sport is not only wrong but incredible insulting to our athletes with disabilities- when it comes to their sports i doubt you or i could match them (in fact in some cases they are even faster, stronger, etc than their able bodied compatriots).
Alls i'm saying is that maybe some comments should be thought through before they're made.

Re: Legs of shame.
I never said that what they do has no value. But the value is largely for them. I stand by the fact that i would not spend my time watching them for the sake of watching them.
Watching my kids play sports has intrinsic value regardless of the level of the sport being played. They are my kids. I am sure that the parents and loved ones of all those in the paraolympics love watching their people play the sports they do. It doesn't mean that I find any enjoyment in it nor do i see any real point in watching it. I don't think that not watching it or, even going further not broadcasting it is prejudiced against people with disability just as not broadcasting lower grades of football is not biased against those who can't play as well as premier league. I have nothing against spazzo's i just don't want to watch them.
