Re: Random Task
I think our conversation on the emails a while ago is more pertinent than ever:
we wrote:Tom: [...] But I am waiting mainly till I get the Wii [...]
Myself: So wait, how many systems are you getting? My god, man, pace yourself!
Tom: ALL OF THEM! MU hahahahaha
Myself: And when do you plan on using all of these, Tom? Huh? In the precious little time that WoW will relinquish, usually dedicated to eating, jettisoning excrement and working so as to be able to afford more food and more WoW hours? That'll mean you'll have to strap a TV monitor to your chest/forehead; have your Wii controller in one hand, flailing it about psychotically and braining all those unfortunate enough to interfere with your super-leet gaming adventures; your 360 controller in the other hand, crippled beyond use after attempting to contort it into all different shapes to try to accommodate the oversized controller. Or was this your plan all along, Tom?

I thought that was a little off colour. Christians can be dicks just like atheists.

Blog wrote:[Catch the Fire Ministries] leader, Pastor Danny Nalliah said he would spearhead an effort to provide every assistance to devastated communities, although he was not surprised by the bush fires due to a dream he had last October relating to consequences of the abortion laws passed in Victoria.
He said these bushfires have come as a result of the incendiary abortion laws which decimate life in the womb.

“Australia is based on Judeo-Christian values. How far have we as a nation moved from these principles instilled in our nation’s inception. How much does it take for a nation to return to God? The Bible is very clear, if you walk out of God’s protection and turn your back on Him, you are an open target for the devil to destroy.”

Re: Random Task
Please let me make this abundantly clear, Christ never said He would send bushfires to destroy people who pass pro-abortion laws. In my opinion (and from my limited study), this guy sounds like a complete whack-job and needs to stop defaming the name of Christ.

Re: Random Task
Yeah, sorry, I wasn't really trying to associate him with you (or the majority of Christians). The main reason I put it up was just because it annoyed the hell out of me, as I'm sure it did you.
But, having said that, there is something, I believe, inherent in religion that allows such things to take place — religion doesn't make them take place, but it does make safe havens for such rampantly crazy thinking, usually under the guise of religious freedom, or some crap. Also, religion tends to make people think that anything is justified if it is fulfilling the will of their God (or whatever): dangerous (and poor) way of thinking.

Re: Random Task
Catholic Priest sacked. I don't mean to keep bringing this religious stuff up, but I do it not really because it's religious but just because it's plain old ignorance, and it would offend me (and hopefully others) if it happened in any other area as well.
Article wrote:[He was fired] by turning his back on traditional Catholic teachings.
He changed the liturgy and performed and officiated over strange, perhaps illegal, baptisms.
He encouraged homosexuality by blessing same sex couples and allowed a Buddhist statue to be placed on the holy altar.
He admitted he no longer respected the hierarchical authority of the church.
