Well, I reckon Union is a better game, having never seen any NFL game or knowing absolutely nothing about it and therefore not being able to be proved wrong. But they still do use their hands, and the ball is kinda an egg shape. So...

but there's a lot more kicking in Rugby (for the purposes of this discussion and, well- life in general- Rugby refers to Rugby Union... League is not a sport), and that kicking is more than just converting try's- the kicking is a vital tactical part of the game...

Yes, but running with the ball in your hands is not involved at all in football, is it?

I suggest Union should be called Handeggkick.

Or, you know, we could just call it Union.

It's technically called a rugby "ball" even though its an egg shape. I have though found that yelling out "PASS ME THE EGG" gets you some strange looks.

Yelling that out in a game of rugby, or just in the street? Because I could understand the weird looks in the street.

Why are so many Union fans so pretentious?
Is it due to the demographic with which the sport is popular or are there other factors?

piece-meal is more entertaining... and i has to go, needless to say the NRL is a joke of a governing body and Rugby league is for chumps who don't understand the rules to a proper game of rugby or what it means when a woman says no. There i said it!

Well, rugby league exists outside of the NRL, you know. Also, the incompetence of the governing body doesn't impact on the legitimacy of the sport. I think the English FA are rubbish, but the Premier League is doing just okey dokey.

As for the difference in rules, having different rules doesn't mean it's not a sport. For the record, I much prefer union because it has that flow to it, but league's still a sport.

1: Pretentious?!?? Didn't I tell you to stop making up words.
2: ???
3: Rugby is a sport that was born in an elite private school and has basically been adopted by alot of private schools in Britain/Australia other places too (maybe). Basicaly all the rich people love it and look down on league because its a strange weird game to them. Look at league fan and football (soccer).
4: League is a sport, though I find that people who don't like league still leech the 3 state of origin games from it before going back to their hatefilled ways.

Did I just hear that the super bowl was won in the last 2 minutes? Didn't that happen last time? And probably the time before. It's rigged, I'm telling you, it's so obvious.
