How ‘bout this. I’ve often realised that I’ve fallen into the trap of mistakenly believing that things in the past were much better than they are now—and in some cases they probably were, but in others probably not. What’s your opinion? Is there any area that you think has been degenerating in standards, either in comparison to many centuries ago or just a few decades ago? Or are there areas that you think things have been improving?

And filled with creepy self indulgent man preening... I have memories of enjoying action movies, i also used to enjoy watching Alf- somethings have to end Trev.

I think life was easier in the old days- as in when i was a kid, and you didn't get sued for getting in a fight at school [insert pithy web-link here]... back before the Law was all, and everything could be solved with a simple legal colonic, life was better. Slingshots weren't (completely) illegal, you could still get fireworks for certain nights of the year, and leaders didn't have to fill out incident report forms if they offered a tissue to a sneezing kid. Life was better.

I completely agree. Kids should be allowed to fight (i don't agree with bullying but you should be able to stand up for yourself without being sued). Things were better back in the day when people weren't obsessed with healthy options, when TV was all sit coms rather than reality TV. It was better

That’s gold. Nice reminiscing all. I hope Alf comes back, especially in POG form.

There was also Family Matters
Golden Years. Urkel-10 + Golden Years. Carl10

And Full House
Golden Years. Unclej10

And what about the cartoons that were on in the morning! Man! What great times... Society really was greater back then.

And the legal thing of today does irritate the hell outa me.

Of course- people ate different too. i can remember that we used to have like steak, potatoes and some greens and that was the staple diet, it was seen as healthy (which it was) and balanced (which it was). Now it's seen as too high in protein so we have to eat other stuff and i reckon it's because kids can't or wont get out and DO SOMETHING!

Although i think this idea (from the 5 second glimpse of the article i took) is something there should be more of in Australia!

Ahh, the old 'meat and two veg' diet, eh? Didn't that disappear after the depression ended? And with good cause! Nah, it's a'ight.

So, Battlefield Live = Lazer Zone and Paintball together at last?
